Three MPs in Taita Taveta county and five MCAs are circulating a petition calling for impeachment of Governor John Mruttu.
They also want the transfer of the county commissioner and police commander.
The lawmakers want Mruttu sacked and the others transferred over illegal grazing in community farms.
Mruttu is blamed for remaining silent on the issue.
Commissioner Oningoi Sossio is accused of providing security to the illegal herders.
The lawmakers are MPs Andrew Mwadime (Mwatate), Jones Mlolwa (Voi), woman representative Joyce Lay and MCAs Juma Mwamba, Arresmus Mwarabu, Frank Kichoi, Flumence Mshila and Mary Mwakera.
They signed the petition at Mwatate on Monday after a meeting on the removal of illegal herders.
Last Wednesday, residents of Aaliya removed more than 3,000 illegal cattle.
“Some people are politicising the issue to put my office in a bad light. A few community members have entered illegal agreements with herders,” Sossio said on the phone yesterday.
He said the livestock were there before he was transferred to Taita Taveta county.
On Friday, Mruttu said the livestock must move out of the county.
